College to host seminar on global warming

Kozhikode: St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, in association with the University of Calicut, will host an international seminar on “Global warming and the greenhouse effect” on the campus on Tuesday.

A panel of experts, including scientists and researchers from government and non-governmental institutes, will present papers.
The seminar, being funded by the University Grants Commission, will discuss in detail the impact of global warming on India's agriculture sector and potential areas of development.

A press release issued by Benny Sebastian, Principal of the college, said the panellists included P.V. Joseph, former Director of the India Meteorological Department; Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Oceanography; and Prasad Rao from Kerala Agriculture University.
